Apple to remove home button on next iPad and iPhone

Written by Gradly on . Posted in Apple, blog, Gossips, iPhone, News, Rants & Raves

We just got some pretty wild information from one of our Apple sources and while it’s hard to believe at first, it does make sense. We have exclusively been told that the reason Apple just added multitouch gestures for the iPad in the latest iOS 4.3 beta is because the iPad will be losing the home button. Yes, we are told that Apple, at some point in time, will remove the home button from the iPad’s design. Instead of button taps, you will use new multitouch gestures to navigate to the home screen and also to launch the app switcher. That’s not all, however. In addition to the home button disappearing from the iPad, we’re told that this change will make its way over to the iPhone as well. Our source said Apple employees are already testing iPads and iPhones with no home buttons on the Apple campus, and it’s possible we will see this new change materialize with the next-generation iPad and iPhone devices set to launch this year. Additionally, we’re told Apple’s popular photo-taking application, Photo Booth, will be appearing on the next iPad. It’s also very possible that we’ll see iLife apps for iOS unveiled around the iPad 2 release as well. It has been said that Steve Jobs didn’t want any physical buttons on the original iPhone at first, and it looks like he may soon get his wish. [via: BGR]

Twitter Just Got Its Most Beautiful iPad App! TweetMag

TweetMag

TweetMag is, without a doubt, the most beautiful Twitter app that ever landed on the iPad. Yes, TweetMag is more attractive than Flipboard.

TweetMag revolves around a simple idea: every user, list or search can become a tweetmag. Instead of allowing you to select the people you follow and tell the app “hey, let’s make a magazine out of this stream”, TweetMag is capable of converting almost any kind of Twitter stream into an app-optimized digital magazine. A tweetmag stands out because of its attention to typography, great use of whitespace, elegant layout and the way it (magically) displays content by relevance. [Link 4.99$]

Creepy Guy Destroys iPad, Delivers It To Steve Jobs

SayHiToSpace.com

I don’t know what’s going on with mysterious website SayHiToSpace.com. Sure, there’s a countdown in there and even links to email and Twitter, but it’s their Youtube channel that creeps me out. Basically, the first video from SayHiToSpace went viral as it featured a creepy guy finding out that the iPad lacked a camera, then destroying it making a hole in the middle of the device with a water jet. Here’s the first video: A follow-up to that has been posted on Youtube, featuring the same guy — who actually sent the broken unit to Steve Jobs at Infinite Loop. To prove it, the DHL tracking number of the shipment was posted online. As you can see on Youtube, the video description says the “iTablet” will be sold on eBay starting December 9th. I guess the piece that has been removed will be sold on eBay, meaning that the lucky winner will share a piece of the same iPad with Steve Jobs. Awesome? Creepy? Check out the video yourselves.
