Rumors Round-up
Ahead of the iPhone media event today at 10AM PST [Click here for your timezone​], the rumor mill is in high gear and below is a round-up of all expected products, features, and speculations:
Apple is expected to announce two new phones at the event, iPhone 5S and the new iPhone 5C. Both models being available in new color variations. The App store is currently shut down and is expected to return after the event is over, with new pages featuring the newly announced hardware.
An improved processor, A7 Chip
Based off of the latest Apple naming trend, the new iPhone would almost retain the same exact iPhone 5 casing, therefore the name, iPhone 5S. we’re expecting the iPhone 5S to include an upgraded processor, A7 chip, which sees a 31% improvements over its predecessor. Not to mention that each previous processor iteration saw 50% more powerful than its predecessor.
Dual-LED Flash
Leaked iPhone 5S back-plates suggest that the new phone will incorporate a dual-LED flash that will allow for much improved lighting quality for photos and video taken in low-light environments.
8 Mega-pixel f/2.0 Camera
The iPhone 5S will retain an 8 megapixel rear-camera with an improved f/2.0 Aperture, which in turn can push for more image quality in low-lit environment. In comparison, iPhone 5 has f/2.4
Apple may also introduce a slow-motion camera mode. a code in iOS 7 hints at 120FPS video capturing capability, which support this theory.
Fingerprint Scanner
The highly rumored and anticipated feature in the iPhone 5S is a fingerprint scanner, S for Scanner or Security?. which is believed to be the tent-pole of Apple’s next flagship phone. The talk about biometric sensor began after Apple acquired AuthenTec. The fingerprint scanner is rumored to be integrated around the home button and users will be able to touch that area without pressing the button to unlock the phone for example. A leaked image suggests the features name as Touch ID Sensor.
More Color Options
We’re expecting the new iPhone 5S to come in new different color options, Graphite and Champagne.
Cheap iPhone 5C
On the other side, The iPhone 5C, C for color?, will get the internals of iPhone 5 seemingly, and will incorporate a plastic, polycarbonate, shell comes in many colors, white, red, blue, yellow, and green. This iPhone is intended to compete with low-end to medium-end smartphones.
